Michael Marshall, Alternate Federal Co-Chairman
In April 2010, Michael G. Marshall was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as Alternate Federal Co-Chairman of the Delta Regional Authority. Prior to joining the Obama Administration, he served as Mayor of Sikeston, MO, from 2003 to 2009.
Mr. Marshall is the former President of First State Bank & Trust, Inc. and served on the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority for thirteen years. While serving as the Mayor of Sikeston, he established the Sikeston Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority for both commercial and residential property, along with initiating the revitalization efforts for downtown Sikeston. He also served as the director of the Joint Transportation Commission of Sikeston’s I-55 Northern Interchange Project.
Mr. Marshall has extensive background in farm management, and was a past president of the Sikeston Jaycees and Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2009, Marshall was recognized as Citizen of the Year by the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mike Marshall, a lifetime resident of Sikeston, Missouri, graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Art in Economic and Business Administration and Psychology. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Mr. Marshall and his wife, Beth, have two adult children and attend St. Francis Xavier Church.
