NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has told more than 800 Loyola University graduates to wear the moniker "the Katrina class" with honor.
Many of Saturday's graduates were freshmen in late 2005 when Hurricane Katrina struck.
Jindal received an honorary degree from Loyola. During his 13-minute speech, he told students to keep an open mind, seek the truth, dream big and avoid greed.
The governor also encouraged students to dream and while that quest may take them across the globe, he said students can achieve their dreams in Louisiana.
Jindal said: "Louisiana is changing. The American dream is alive and well, right here in Louisiana."
