      I am pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Delta Regional Authority States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP).  We are seeking applications that will help create jobs and improve critical infrastructure for the hard-working residents of your Delta community.
      
      The States’ Economic Development Assistance Program has been retooled and the application is now available online at http://www.dra.gov/.  You can apply, edit and track your application on our website at your convenience.  The Delta Regional Authority SEDAP staff has a strong commitment to working with you, our local leaders.  Staff are available at any time to help with technical assistance and project development at (662) 624-8600.

      Interested applicants within your communities should contact their Local Development District to begin the application process. Applications are due to the Local Development District office by Tuesday, May 29, 2012. A list of Local Development Districts for the eight Delta states and more information about the SEDAP updates are available on the DRA website at http://www.dra.gov/
      
      The States’ Economic Development Assistance Program may be used to fund projects for basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, workforce training and business development with a focus on entrepreneurship.  Projects must be located in the 252 counties and parishes served by the Delta Regional Authority and priority is given to projects that demonstrate innovation and entrepreneurship, a regional approach, multiple funding partners, and real economic development opportunities.
