The Delta Regional Authority, in conjunction with the White House Rural Council, the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services invite you to participate in a workshop that will feature national and regional leaders discussing the future of the health information technology (health IT), workforce and the role of community colleges in the Delta. 

We know that keeping our economy strong in the Delta requires cutting-edge access to the new technology that creates new jobs. The Health IT Forum is designed to connect our education, economic development and health care provider communities with the information needed for a real understanding of health IT workforce training and the supply and demand associated with health IT job growth.    

On August 7^th and 9^th – you will learn more about:

·         Health IT workforce training;

 

·         The future outlook of health IT job growth;

 

·         Demands and challenges for health IT workforce development specific to institutions in the Delta region;

 

·         Federal health IT programs;

 

·         What’s worked in health IT Curriculum Programs; and

 

·         The long-term outlook associated with transitioning to meaningful use.

August 7^th Logistics for the Tennessee Event: The event will be located in Room 204B of The Glover Education Center located at 1510 Lake Road, at Dyersburg State. Parking is available at the Glover building parking lot.

August 9^th Logistics for the Mississippi Event: The event will be located in the Auditorium, Room LL2 of the Nursing Allied Health Center located at 1750 Chadwick Drive at Hinds Community College. Parking is available to the right of the building near the armory.
