NEWS: Delta Regional Authority to Host Health IT Jobs Forum in Jackson, MS
The White House Rural Council, the Delta Regional Authority, and the Department of Health and Human Services host forum on the future of health information technology and job creation in the rural Delta
JACKSON, MS – On Thursday, August 9, 2012, the Delta Regional Authority, in conjunction with the White House Rural Council, the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will host a workshop featuring national and regional leaders discussing the future of the health information technology (health IT) workforce and the role of community colleges in the Delta.
The Health IT Jobs Forum will include topics such as Health IT workforce training, the future outlook of health IT job growth, demands and challenges for health IT workforce development specific to institutions in the Delta region, among other issue areas important to the health provider community.
The White House Rural Council Health IT Jobs Forum in Jackson is one of two forums being held in the Delta Region this week. They are designed to connect our education, economic development and health care provider communities with the information needed for a real understanding of health IT workforce training and the supply and demand associated with health IT job growth.
